Qualifications

  • Must have 18th edition and good understanding of BS7671.
  • Desirable: Inspection and testing 2391, 2 years’ experience in water industry.
  • Capable of using Microsoft programmes like Word, Excel, Outlook.

Job description

OurContracts Deliveryteam is looking for anInstallation Electricianto join the project team in our office inEast Kilbride.

The vacant position requires a time served electrical person who is self-motivated with good communication skills to provide electrical installation skills to our Contracts team, which primarily deals with upgrade projects on Scottish Water sites, both clean water and sewage sites.

The role will involve installation of field equipment and cabling, glanding and terminating of newly installed cables as detailed within design drawings, testing of cables once installed prior to energisation.

The successful applicant will join a small team of like-minded motivated electricians, mechanical fitters and commissioning personnel in delivering both new and upgrade projects to a high standard and should have good team ethics and flexibility to assist others when necessary.

Join a team of dedicated and motivated professional people who work as a team to allow everyone to achieve their full potential by open communication and cross-skills guidance to allow all team players to have a clearer understanding of how their specific skills interact with other disciplines (e.g. Commissioning and Testing).

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Report directly to the electrical supervisor and project engineer
  • Work on projects for Scottish Water
  • Complete survey work and build reports to the project engineer
  • Time to be split between site and our fit-out facility in East Kilbride
  • Have experience working with schematics, cable blocks and specifications
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have 18th edition and have a good understanding of BS7671
  • Electrical HNC desirable, but not essential
  • Inspection and testing 2391- desirable but not essential
  • 2 years’ experience in the water industry or industrial engineering desirable but not essential
  • Confident using various Microsoft programmes such as Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Water experience is highly advantageous
  • Good time management
  • Good communication skills in both verbal and written communication with an ability to follow, interpret and explain technical instructions
  • Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work with, lead and motivate others, and be able to bring projects to successful completion
  • Driven, with an ability to work individually and with teams under your direction
  • Ability to multitask
  • Innovative thinking, with an ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
