A leading educational provider seeks a Student Welfare Officer for a summer role in Greater London. The position involves providing care and support to young international students, particularly those from China, ensuring their comfort and safety during their stay. Responsibilities include overseeing activities, managing accommodations, and engaging with students in a fun educational environment. Candidates must speak fluent Chinese Mandarin and be available for the entire contract period, with full-board accommodation provided.
Are you a native/fluent speaker of Chinese Mandarin? Are you looking for fun, paid work over the summer that aligns with your natural ability to care for others?
Our Student Welfare Officer (Mandarin speaker) role allows you to earn more than just money. You’ll gain transferable skills that future employers are looking for, along with an enjoyable and unforgettable experience over the summer.
Each summer, Stafford House welcomes over 6,000 students (ages 8–17) from around the world, giving them the opportunity to improve their English while having an unforgettable experience. Students stay for 7–14 days at one of our eight vibrant school locations, enjoying a lively mix of academic lessons, activities, and excursions.
A significant number of our students come from China, and it is important that we can communicate effectively with them to ensure their welfare, safety, and overall experience.
As a Student Welfare Officer, you will be at the heart of our students’ experience. Much like a House Parent, you’ll provide pastoral care, supporting students with their well-being and ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and confident throughout their stay.
In this role, you will also take an active part in leading excursions and activities specifically for our Chinese student groups, working alongside the Activities team to create engaging, fun, and memorable experiences.
Bloomsbury, Central London with the potential of Cambridge, Oakham and Uxbridge (depending on student numbers – more information available on request in these locations)
24th June – 23rd August. You must be available for at least 4 weeks but preferably the whole contract.
48 hours per week over 6 days. As you will be providing wrap-around care for our students, it is necessary to be residential for the duration of the contract. Good news! You don’t need to be local to our school locations to apply.
Pay: £610.08 per week plus holiday entitlement + full-board accommodation included
Incentive: Employees may receive a £500 discount on CELTA training course provided by Stafford House, post qualifying contract. Note: wording retained from original
