A Summer Program Provider based in Central London is seeking a Student Welfare Officer fluent in Turkish to support the well-being of young students. This role involves providing pastoral care, managing student activities, and ensuring their safety during a residential program from June 24 to August 23. The position requires 48 hours of work per week, offers full-board accommodation, and provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in an educational environment. Candidates must be available for a one-day training session and should have the right to work in the UK.

Each summer, Stafford House welcomes over 6,000 students (ages 8–17) from around the world, giving them the opportunity to improve their English while having an unforgettable experience. Students stay for 7–14 days at one of our eight vibrant school locations, enjoying a lively mix of academic lessons, activities, and excursions.
A significant number of our students come from Turkey, and it is important that we can communicate effectively with them to ensure their welfare, safety, and overall experience.
As a Student Welfare Officer, you will be at the heart of our students’ experience. Much like a House Parent, you’ll provide pastoral care, supporting students with their well-being and ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and confident throughout their stay.
In this role, you may also take an active part in leading excursions and activities specifically for our Turkish student groups.
Location: Bloomsbury, Central London - this is a residential contract and we will provide you with full, board accommodation during your contract.
Contracts: 24th June - 23rd August - you must be available for at least 4 weeks but preferably the whole contract.
Hours: 48 hours per week over 6 days. As you will be providing wrap-around care for our students, it is necessary to be residential for the duration of the contract. You don’t need to be local to apply.
Full-board accommodation is provided as you must be residential for this role
1st Aid Course as part of your training, prior to the programme starting and ongoing support throughout your contract duration

Confidence, with a good understanding how to work professionally with young people. You’ll be supporting young students who visit us from overseas to learn English. You’ll be guided by your Welfare and Accommodation Manager and/or the Centre Director, and acting as their responsible adult, and/or support their Group Leader.
Safeguarding is a big part of the job, and we take it seriously. If successful we will conduct full pre-employment checks including an Enhanced DBS check, in line with our safer recruitment policy and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025.
Administration. You will allocate the accommodation for and make plans to ensure that our overseas students’ needs are met, prior to arrival. You’ll also complete admin duties, such as logbooks and Health & Safety records.
Great Organisation. While here, you’ll manage the essential aspects of our students’ stay; ensuring they get to lessons on time, supervising mealtimes and working with their Group Leaders to support the smooth running of their stay.
Being Supportive. You’ll cover the duties of care for our students overnight, on a rota basis. Additionally, providing pastoral support to ensure their holistic well-being and welfare.
You’ll be able to communicate effectively in both English and Turkish
Energetic. Working 48 hours per week over a 6-day week. This is a fully immersive working experience. Activities and excursions involve high levels of activity and lots of walking!
Flexible. To care for our students arriving from Turkey, you may be asked to support with a range of duties; taking part in excursions and activities. You may also on occasion attend London airports and train stations to welcome our students, from Turkey.
Responsibility. You’ll take part in pastoral care duties, including night-duties on a rotation basis
You must already have the right to work in the UK on a full-time basis - 48 hours per week
You must be available to attend a 1-day training session in London on 24th June
