Job summary

An organization supporting vulnerable youth is looking for Future Focused Mentors in Tees Valley to help young people build safer, more positive futures. This self-employed role involves delivering interventions to improve engagement and wellbeing, with a commitment of two to five days per week. Keys Inclusion Pathway is seeking Future Focused Mentors to deliver targeted, meaningful interventions that improve engagement, wellbeing, and pathways back into education.

About the Role

As a Future Focused Mentor, you will work directly with young people who may be at risk of:

  • Exploitation or criminal involvement
  • Online harm or unsafe relationships

Using a creative, trauma-informed approach, you will help young people develop resilience, self-esteem, and the confidence to make safer life choices.

This is a self-employed role, with a minimum commitment of two days per week, and potential for up to five days depending on case availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with young people and their families
  • Deliver engaging 1:1 interventions in community and educational settings
  • Facilitate sessions focused on:
  • Healthy relationships
  • Online safety
  • County lines and exploitation awareness
  • Support emotional regulation, confidence, and positive decision-making
  • Maintain accurate case records and professional reports
  • Uphold safeguarding and safer-working practices at all times
Person Specification
  • Experience working with vulnerable children and young people, particularly those at risk of exploitation or involvement with the criminal justice system
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Key Skills
  • Calm, resilient, and professional under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of SEND, trauma-informed practice, and positive behaviour strategies

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
