A specialist education provider in Newcastle upon Tyne seeks an experienced Lead Teacher to support students with special educational needs. This role will initially commence on a part‑time basis. Due to the rapid growth of this new service, we anticipate that the position will increase to full‑time within a matter of weeks. Applicants must be able to acknowledge this requirement and be fully prepared and available to transition to a full‑time role as the service develops.
This role is salaried; FTE equates to £35,500 to £38,000 per annum – experience dependent. The service, once in full‑time operation, will run Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:00.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Teacher to join our specialist education provision in collaboration with Newcastle County Council at Great Park Community Centre (with the possibility of other locations).
Initially the role would commence on a part‑time basis, but as our service grows the hours will increase. You will deliver engaging, person‑centred learning from our bespoke curriculum, supporting students to overcome barriers to learning while developing independence, confidence, and life skills.
Alongside your teaching responsibilities, you will act as the Lead on site or across sites, providing day‑to‑day oversight, supporting staff, and building strong relationships with families and external professionals.
