Job summary

A UK-based educational institution is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Faculty Leader specializing in Design & Technology or Food & Nutrition. Permanent Contract - 1.0 FTE - Required from 1st September 2026

Salary M4 to UPS3 (dependent on experience) + TLR2a (£3,910)

We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, motivated and enthusiastic teacher to join our thriving Art, Design & Technology Faculty as Assistant Faculty Leader. This is an excellent role for an aspiring or emerging leader specialising in Design & Technology or Food & Nutrition, looking to grow their leadership impact while continuing to deliver outstanding classroom practice.

You will play a pivotal part in supporting the Faculty Leader to drive improvement, shape a creative curriculum, and maintain high standards of teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will be a positive, collaborative practitioner who leads by example and is passionate about enabling all students to achieve their very best.

Applicants must:
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with specializing in Design & Technology or Food & Nutrition.
  • Have a strong understanding of curriculum design, pedagogy and assessment.
  • Be able to support the Faculty Leader by guiding colleagues, modelling best practice, and contributing to faculty improvement priorities.
  • Have the skills and confidence to monitor teaching and learning, provide developmental feedback and support quality assurance processes.
  • Bring creativity, innovation and enthusiasm to the faculty’s development of practical, design thinking and enterprise focused learning.
  • Be committed to enrichment, extra curricular activities, trips and events that enhance students’ wider experience.
