A leading engineering consultancy in the UK is looking for a passionate civil engineer in High Wycombe to lead design projects in water and wastewater treatment. The candidate should have a strong background in the UK water industry and a relevant degree, ideally with Chartered status. The role involves collaboration with contractor partners and mentoring younger engineers. This position promises a culture that nurtures growth and innovation while tackling the pressing challenges of climate change.
Following a period of record-breaking growth, Stantec’s Water division is entering an ambitious new era. For 2026 and beyond, we are expanding our South Region teams to meet the challenges of climate change head-on.
We aren't just consultants; we are partners to the UK’s top water clients. From iconic large-scale infrastructure to intricate urban drainage solutions, we design with a simple promise: Community first.
Joining our teams in High Wycombe, Reading, or Cambridge (all prime locations just a short stroll from the train station), you will immerse yourself in the full project lifecycle.
You are a passionate engineer who doesn’t just want to "do the math," but wants to solve the problem.
Beyond the technical, we offer a culture that values your growth as much as our own. We provide the tools, the mentorship, and the iconic projects—you provide the drive.

We plan, design, deliver and manage the development and infrastructure needed to support the creation of sustainable, healthy and prosperous communities.
Our teams provide effective and relevant solutions, translating our clients’ vision into valued consents, deliverable plans for projects and programmes, and efficient designs for delivery, based on technical excellence and deep market insights. We deal with today’s challenges, but also keep a fairer, better tomorrow in sight, looking at how we deliver clean growth, support radical changes in our economy and meet the needs of future communities.
