An environmental charity in Llanelli seeks a Visitor Experience Officer to enhance the visitor journey by organizing events and activities. This site-based role requires engaging with the public, ensuring high standards of visitor experience, and working collaboratively with a team. Ideal candidates will possess customer-facing experience and an interest in nature conservation. The Visitor Experience Officer plays a key role in bringing WWT Llanelli to life for our visitors by supporting the delivery of seasonal events, family activities, talks, tours and venue hire, while ensuring high standards of welcome, signage and interpretation across the site. Working closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager and our engagement volunteers, the role helps create safe, inspiring and memorable experiences through friendly, informative visitor engagement and well-organised activities.
It’s an exciting, varied role that offers the chance to work in a beautiful outdoor setting, develop skills in events, communication and teamwork, and make a real difference to how people connect with nature. By sharing knowledge about wetlands, wildlife and conservation, the Visitor Experience Officer helps inspire care for the natural world and supports WWT’s mission to restore wetlands and unlock their power for people and wildlife alike .
Working pattern
Average 15 hours per week over 2 - 3 days on an annualised hours contract. Hours may vary through the seasons. The salary will be paid in equal monthly amounts
This is asite-based roleat WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre
Includesregular weekend, evening and public holiday working
Occasional local travel may be required (driving licence desirable but not essential)

Experience in a customer-facing or visitor-focused role
Confidence engaging with the public and providing a warm, friendly welcome
Experience supporting events, activities or visitor experiences
Ability to work well as part of a team
A positive, proactive attitude and good communication skills
An interest in nature, wildlife or conservation
Ability to maintain high standards of presentation and visitor experience
Comfortable working with volunteers and supporting group activities
