Social Worker – Children with Disabilities – Harrow – £37.52 p/h – Ongoing contract

The London Borough of Harrow is searching for a Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities (CWD) team. Located in Harrow on Station Rd (HA1 2XY), this exciting opportunity offers an attractive hourly rate of £37.52 and is open‑ended. Full‑time hours are from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with flexible arrangements available to suit your lifestyle, such as working four longer days or part‑time hours if preferred.

What you will do:

  • Arrange respite breaks for families, ensuring both the child and family receive much‑needed support
  • Conduct statutory visits at home to promote wellbeing and safeguard children
  • Carry out initial and comprehensive assessments to identify specific needs
  • Arrange and review care plans, tailoring them to fit individual requirements
  • Collaborate with professionals such as occupational therapists to enhance service delivery
  • Organise direct payments to facilitate better care solutions
  • Perform risk assessments to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children
  • Attend reviews and meetings for children who are looked after, advocating on their behalf
  • Undertake parenting assessments to provide necessary support and guidance
  • Coordinate and participate in core group meetings, ensuring effective case management
  • Manage section 47 enquiries and educational needs assessments to uphold best practices

Requirements of the Social Worker role include a degree or equivalent qualification in social work, current Social Work England registration, and significant frontline experience in social services within the UK.
