An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Lead Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialist to support the continuing development of the children's diabetes service at the Great Western Hospital.
We are looking for a highly motivated nurse to work 26 hours per week over 4 week days.
The postholder will act as an autonomous practitioner, supporting children and families across hospital and community settings, and providing operational and strategic leadership for the paediatric diabetes nursing service.
They will collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary children's diabetes team, to ensure provision of effective care and development of the service to enable children and young people with diabetes to achieve the best possible quality of life, health and wellbeing.
The post holder will provide operational and strategic leadership for the paediatric diabetes nursing service and collaborate closely with the clinical lead and multidisciplinary children's diabetes team, to ensure provision of effective care and development of the service to enable children and young people with diabetes to achieve the best possible quality of life, health and wellbeing.
The post holder will deliver a comprehensive specialist clinical, advisory, and educational service across hospital and community settings, in line with local and national standards, supporting both patients and service providers. They will take a lead role in advancing clinical practice, integrating technology, and contributing to research and audit activities.
