Job summary

A healthcare organization in Chester is seeking a Clinical Psychologist in Band 8a to provide specialized psychological services for clients with Eating Disorders. Job overview

Two Psychology roles have become available in CWP Eating Disorders Service; 0.6 WTE Clinical Psychologist in Stockport, based at Hall Lodge and 0.5 WTE Clinical Psychologist in the Wirral and West Cheshire Eating Disorders Service. Applications are welcome from candidates who may be interested in either role, or a combination of the two, not exceeding full time. Base will be dependent on the role taken and should be discussed at interview.

The successful candidate/candidates will provide a high quality, specialist psychology service to clients suffering from Eating Disorders. They will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy, as well as providing consultation and advice on clients' psychological care to non-psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and carers. They will supervise trainees and qualified practitioners as agreed, working autonomously within the framework of the service’s policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job
  • Providing psychological leadership within the team.
  • Delivering clinical supervision to practitioners

  • Participating in quality improvement measures in regard to psychological interventions.
  • Completing appropriate documentation and processes to facilitate ED treatment pathways

Qualifications
  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) or
  • HPC Registered
  • Additional Psychotherapy qualification
  • Core NHS/Social Services professional training
Knowledge & Expertise
  • Skills in conducting complex psychological assessment and intervention frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration
  • Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex and /or clinically sensitive information to clients and professional colleagues within and outside the NHS
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Skills in providing Consultation to other professionals and non-professional groups
  • Experience of liaison with other health professionals.
  • Experience of providing teaching and training.
  • Experience of contributing to policy and service development.
Experience
  • Post-qualification NHS experience of working as a clinical psychologist therapeutically with adult clients with varied psychological problems.
