Explain tenancy agreements and tenants’ rights in detail. Support tenants with rent payments, housing benefit claims, and arrears prevention. Promote understanding of housing responsibilities and encourage positive engagement. Maintain tenancy records, incident logs, and coordinate multi agency case reviews.
Handle repairs and maintenance requests, ensuring timely resolution. Manage allocations and lettings, minimising voids and arrears. Personally supervise contractors when necessary to safeguard tenant wellbeing. Monitor property standards and ensure safe use of equipment. Work closely with the maintenance team, contractors and the Operational Manager to ensure adherence to the RSH Consumer Standards for safety and security.
Offer guidance on hygiene, property upkeep, and safe living practices. Coordinate support across multiple services to meet tenants’ holistic needs, including housing, health, and social care. Liaise proactively with statutory and voluntary agencies, such as NHS mental health teams, occupational therapists, social workers, and community organisations, to support independent living and tenancy sustainment. Facilitate multi-agency meetings or case conferences where appropriate.
As Supported Housing Officer, you’ll play a key role in delivering a proactive, holistic and customer-centred housing management service. You’ll support tenants to sustain their tenancies, access essential services, and remain engaged in their communities.
The postholder will operate independently across SCHA properties, leading on tenancy sustainment initiatives, uphold tenancy obligations and work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external partners.
