Charity Context: Daisy’s Dream is the only Berkshire-based charity supporting children and young people through bereavement. We are a small, friendly and ambitious team seeking a dynamic fundraiser to manage corporate, community, and events-based income streams.
Core Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for corporate partnerships and sponsorships.
- Identify and pitch to local businesses for “Charity of the Year” status.
- Articulate social impact to partners and manage corporate volunteers.
- Utilise LinkedIn to raise the charity’s profile and network.
- Community & Events
- Research and maintain relationships with local schools, individuals, and groups (e.g., Rotary, Scouts).
- Proactively support independent fundraisers and deliver public presentations.
- Develop and deliver a diverse annual programme of events within budget.
- Manage participants in third-party and challenge events, ensuring high-level stewardship.
- Set and meet annual financial and engagement targets.
- Maintain accurate records using the Beacon database (training provided).
- Ensure all activities comply with legal requirements, including GDPR and licensing.
Person Specification
Experience & Skills
- Essential: Previous experience in fundraising or transferable skills from sales/marketing or other appropriate area.
- Essential: Strong IT skills and excellent local/community knowledge.
- Desirable: Specific corporate fundraising experience or a background in the voluntary sector.
- Attributes: Personable communicator, self-motivated (for home-working), and highly organised with strong attention to detail.
Requirements
- Travel: Full driving license and access to a vehicle with business insurance are essential.
- Flexibility: Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends (compensated via TOIL).
