› › Northamptonshire CCC: Chief Medical Officer (Deadline – Feb 19)Location:Northampton, United Kingdom### Description**Job role** Chief Medical Officer (CMO) **Reporting to** CEO / Head physiotherapist and Clinical Lead **Team** Science and Medicine **Contract** 1 session a week attendance (In season)/1 session per fortnight attendance (Off season) plus remote contact when required. Attendance at all Men’s T20 home games. Role for support of Men’s professional squad, Women’s playing squad and boys academy. **Salary** Annual contract for; 1) Sessional support Pro-rata £500 per day (£250 half day) 2) On-call additional ½ day rate subject to negotiation **Location** Club medical department and virtual / remote support.NCCC are inviting interested applicants to please email your CV and covering letter to hr@nccc.co.uk by the closing date.**Job role** This role will provide medical support to NCCC Men’s professional squad, Women’s tier 2 squad and men’s academy. You will work alongside the Head physiotherapist and clinical lead, plus the wider MDT to optimise availability, manage injuries and illness and help support minimum medical standards and governance, including those set by the CPA / Science and Medicine Audit. The job will involve a mixture of regular presence / attendance at the club (one session a week in season) and/or remote support for several governance and clinical areas. Match day support is only required for men’s home T20 fixtures.**You’ll love this job if** • You thrive in a sports team setting, enjoy working with athletes and are a consistent positive influence within the team culture. • You collaborate and love working across diverse teams to solve problems, share learnings and discuss ideas. • You enjoy applying and adapting your expert skills to help players and the team thrive. • Can be flexible in your provision of telephone advice / support **You’ll be doing** • Delivering high quality medical support to optimise player performance, availability, and wellbeing • To be a key member of the NCCC support team and Science and Medicine team • Interacting with management, coaches, players, and other support staff members • Maintaining and contributing to ensuring strong governance. • Regular sessional attendance at the club • Attending club / ECB for relevant meetings, audits / CPA2. • Active / participating member of ECB CMO group to help development / implementation / revision of current / future policies, • Working closely to support and oversee standards:-Establishing an agreed clinical governance framework with club and Science and Medicine leads, with established Responsibility, Accountability and Delivery of minimum science and medicine standards. -Injury Management and network of support -Cardiac Screening -Mental Health / Wellbeing pathways -Concussion management -Medical records -Annual Medical Screening -Managing Positive Recreational Drugs / Anti-doping in line with the ECB Recreational Drugs Policy -Women’s health**You’ll not be responsible for:** • Day to day to primary care responsibility of players and families (they will be required to be registered with (GP). • Match Day / Training Cover (Outside of men’s home T20 fixtures) • Club occupational health policies and support to all staff NCCC’s commitment to the role • Provide a formal contract with appropriate remuneration. • NCCC acknowledges the CMO role as essential to maintaining professional standards in cricket and recognises the responsibilities and pressures inherent in the position. • Operate in accordance with required clinical governance and safeguarding standards. • Champion and oversee wellbeing initiatives. • Provide the required Science and Medicine resources to support delivery. • Meet CPA2 / Science and Medicine Standards and medical insurance to support appropriate care of players. • Ensure provision of expenses, resources, and facilities required for the role. • Remunerate any match day or training cover provided beyond the agreed contract.**You’ll have** **Essential** • Current registration with General Medical Council (GMC) with right to practice independently and required professional standards including evidence of annual appraisal • Ideally on the specialist register for Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM). If not, you will need to have a post-graduate qualification in SEM. • Ideally you should have considerable SEM experience. • Current Advanced Life Support and Emergency Care accreditation. • Experience of working in professional / elite sports. • Strong collaboration and Communication skills. • Enhanced DBS. • Safeguarding qualifications.**Desirable** • Experience in team sports. • Knowledge of cricket. • Desirable: qualification and experience in musculoskeletal ultrasound / radiology interpretation. • Experience in working with younger athletes.**Safeguarding Statement** • Northamptonshire County Cricket Club is committed to safeguarding and protecting the children and young people we work with.
