A leading children's care provider in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Deputy Manager to support daily operations at an Ofsted-regulated residential children's home. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in residential childcare, strong supervisory skills, and a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or be working towards it). Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (NE6)
Salary: £16.00 per hour (highly competitive overall package)
Working Hour: Shifts on a rota, including evenings and weekends (unsociable hours required)
Hourly Rate: £16.00 per hour
Number of Sleeps Required: When necessary
Pay Per Sleep: £73 per sleep-in
Service: Children’s Home (Residential)
Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England) (or working towards it)
Experience in Years Required: Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare (with supervisory experience)

👤 We’re recruiting a Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of an Ofsted-regulated residential children’s home, and to lead confidently in their absence.
✅ Support with managing operations, supervising staff, and completing administration
✅ Maintain and check casework records
✅ Play an active role in case conferences, reviews and care planning
✅ Work shifts on a rota, including evenings and weekends
⭐ Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare
⭐ Experience in a supervisory capacity
⭐ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England) (or working towards it)
🚗 Full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months (or willingness to obtain with support)
💡 Child-centred and safeguarding-focused
🧠 Confident making key decisions with sound judgement
🧩 Organised with strong administrative skills
💪 Resilient, people-focused, and flexible to the needs of the home
