Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Company3 who provide Colour, Finishing and Sound Post‑production on many prestigious UK and international productions from their base in Chancery Lane, London. You will be working as an integral member of the data operations team, supporting our longform and shortform post‑production business.

Responsibilities:
  • Metadata and SAN management.
  • QC of VFX and conform pulls.
  • Handle client and internal assets (i.e. hard drive copies onto / from SAN).
  • Efficiently transfer data within and outside the building, using different tools and platforms (i.e. Linux, Aspera, Signiant).
  • Transcode files, while adhering to spec.
  • Hand over any remaining tasks to the rest of the team at the end of the shift, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Carry and complete tasks handed over by the previous shift.
  • Occasionally act as London Data IO point of contact internally, locally and globally (shift and staff availability dependent).
  • Maintaining best practices for content security and client confidentiality.
  • Maintain and contribute the development of processes by keeping up with current
Experience / Skills:
  • Experience of working as a Data IO Technician (pref)
  • Knowledge of Linux command line.
  • Experience in working with Davinci Resolve.
  • Experience in using a ticketing system (ie. JIRA).
  • Basic understanding of LTO formats and specifications.
  • Knowledge of industry standard data transfer platforms (i.e. Aspera, Signiant).
  • Basic understanding of networks and servers.
  • Basic understanding of digital camera formats (Arri, Red, Phantom etc.)
  • Basic understanding of ALE and EDL files
  • Basic understanding of color science (LUT applications and various color spaces).
  • Familiar with general post‑production practices.
  • Detail oriented problem solver, capable of working well under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
  • Flexible to work around customer and studio needs.
  • Friendly and approachable manner.
  • Team worker. Leads by example with a can do attitude.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement with an innovative approach to work and problems.
