Position Summary:
The Radiology Technologist will operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Physician in accordance with the Radiologist accepted protocol. The technologist will be proficient in the positioning of the patient and examining table to obtain optimum views of the specified area of the body requested by the physician. Technologist will also practice radiation safety techniques with the ALARA principle in mind, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors, to maximize radiation protection to patient and staff.

Position Summary:
Each Radiology Technologist will operate CAT SCAN equipment to produce Computed Tomography (CT) scans of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Physician in accordance with the Radiologist protocol. The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for administering and consenting for contrast both IV and oral, while being aware of all possible reactions and side effects. The Radiology Technologist will also be responsible for filling out appropriate paperwork and ensuring proper documentation in patients’ charts. Our primary goal is to ensure patient safety and satisfaction, while acquiring an acceptable exam of diagnostic quality.
Additional patient care duties: This includes, but is not limited to: starting IVs, drawing blood, operating lab testing equipment and running patient samples, changing beds, cleaning rooms, and stocking linens.

Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to safety, emergency preparedness, infection control, OSHA, fire safety and hazardous materials.

Maintain confidentiality of patient-related issues; demonstrate effective interpersonal skills; treat all patients, visitors, and staff with respect; utilize effective communication methods; explain all procedures and care while being mindful of language barriers; perform care in a non-judgmental manner.

Ensure personal appearance is neat; wear identification at all times; attend required meetings and in-service education; remain flexible in staffing patterns; comply with attendance standards; demonstrate flexibility with changes in assignments.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience: Graduate of an accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology; at least 2 years of radiologic/imaging experience and CT experience.
Language/Math/Reasoning Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; effectively present information; basic arithmetic and data interpretation; apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSES:
Current State Licensure (Required); Current BCLS Certification (Required); Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Preferred).
