Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines, performing tool changes, offsets and test cuts
  • Work as a setter/operator: read drawings, select fixtures and tooling, perform machine set-ups and first‑off inspections
  • Monitor production, carry out quality checks and maintain accurate process documentation
  • Diagnose and resolve routine machine and program issues; suggest improvements to reduce scrap and cycle time
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow health safety procedures
Skills And Experience Required
  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller / Setter‑Operator on 3‑axis mills
  • Proficient with Fanuc or Heidenhain controls
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
  • Competent using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
  • Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills and a practical, hands‑on approach
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Relevant apprenticeship or engineering qualification would be an advantage
  • Experience with job planning, setting fixtures and optimising cycle times
  • Basic CNC maintenance experience
