Chef – Trenchard Line (ESS – Compass Group)

Location: Trenchard Line
Salary: £29,754
⏰ Hours: 40 hours per week (full-time, site-based)
Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 – working one weekend in four

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Chef to join our catering team at Trenchard Line, part of ESS – Compass Group.
You’ll be responsible for preparing and serving fresh, high‑quality meals in a take‑out style service, supporting a close‑knit team that delivers excellent food and service standards for around 30–60 Service Personnel per meal.

Numbers can increase during functions, exercises, or when more personnel are on site, so flexibility and teamwork are key.

Shift Pattern

• Early Shift: 06:30 – 14:30
• Late Shift: 12:00 – 20:00
• Working one weekend in four

Meal Service Times

Breakfast: 07:15 – 08:30
Lunch: 12:30 – 13:30
Dinner: 18:00 – 19:30

The Team

When fully staffed, our kitchen team includes:
2 Chefs
1 Head Chef
1 Supervisor
♀️ 2 Front of House staff

• Relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) – desirable
