Cervical Sample Taker Database (CSTD) System Administrator

Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust are one of eight centres in England providing Primary HPV Cervical Screening covering the whole of the North East and Yorkshire area. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cervical Sample Taker Database System Administrator role to support the NEY Cervical Screening Department.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual who will be responsible for the day-to-day operational administration of the Cervical Sample Taker Database (CSTD), including managing system security, user access, configuration, and troubleshooting issues.

The post holder will provide high quality, comprehensive day to day administration of the CSTD. This is a regional database covering North East, Yorkshire and Humber regions and this supports the National Cervical Screening Programme by maintaining a register of sample takers and their training. It is important for sample takers, their employers, training/mentor providers and the NHSE screening and immunisation teams to be able to monitor adherence to basic training requirements and to improve performance by sharing sample taker performance data.

The post holder will be the single point of contact for enquiries from end users. They will maintains the user accounts on the system, provide training and assist in the continued development of the CSTD. They are also responsible for providing complex statistical information for the laboratory for internal and external quality assurance purposes.

Main duties of the job

o To maintain user accounts and access rights to the CSTD system.o To manage merge maintenance of records on the CSTD systemo Deliver CSTD system training to individual users when required.o Prepare and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for the use of the CSTD in line with the standards of the service.o Assist in the further deployment of the CSTD where required.o Assist the CSP IT Lead in the continued development of the CSTDo The post holder will be involved in the testing of software release patches in a test environment to check for suitability prior to application to live systemso Primary contact for telephone and general enquiries relating to the CSTD.o The post holder will occasionally work off site including periods of work relating to training or system testing where travel to other parts of the UK are necessary.o Ensure that an effective and efficient service is provided to meet the needs of the CSTD users.o Act as a Mentor and Trainer when required.o Be a positive professional role model.o Maintain professional administrative competence in line with technological advancements.o Work within the Terms and Conditions of Employment of your Trust Contract.

Person Specification
Education
  • Able to demonstrate recent interest in own personal development
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in an information systems role or relevant experience administering an order communications or healthcare system
Experience
  • Relevant experience in an administrative or IT operational role.
  • Experience of working in a helpdesk environment, supporting system users by telephone, electronically and in person.
  • Experience of delivering system training to groups and/or individuals.
  • Experience administering a Sample taker database
  • Previous experience of administering an order communications solution
  • Knowledge gained through experience within an NHS setting.
Skills
