Summary

We are looking for caring and committed Support Workers to help people in a variety of settings, such as assisted living, nursing homes, and home care settings. The role includes helping clients with everyday tasks, ensuring their safety, and fostering their well‑being. Candidates should have relevant expertise in senior care, dementia care, or similar professions and a genuine desire to help others.

Responsibilities
  • Help clients with personal hygiene activities such as dressing, grooming, and bathing.
  • Assist patients with mobility and transfer requirements, including heavy lifting as needed.
  • Follow prescription guidelines when giving medication and keep accurate records.
  • Prepare wholesome meals according to individual dietary needs.
  • Engage clients in activities that enhance their mental and emotional health.
  • Manage behaviour effectively, particularly with patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of isolation or loneliness.
  • Help maintain a safe home environment, including chores such as cleaning and laundry.
  • Drive clients to appointments or excursions while ensuring safety.
  • Use appropriate first aid and escalation procedures to respond quickly to crises.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in home care, assisted living, or nursing homes is beneficial.
  • Understanding of care methods such as hospice, geriatric care, dementia, and Alzheimer’s.
  • First aid certification or training is desirable.
  • Experience managing behaviour and administering medications.
  • Familiarity with caregiving duties including meal preparation and support tasks.
  • Valid driver’s licence required to transport clients.
  • Strong organisational skills, compassion, and the ability to perform physically demanding duties.
