Job description
About the Role

Are you a graduate or unqualified teacher with experience supporting IT or Business classes?

Join a supportive independent school in Hayes, London as a Grad2Teach IT/Business Trainee Teacher — a salaried position designed to help you train, earn, and qualify while gaining valuable in‑school experience.

In this role, you’ll support and deliver engaging IT and Business Studies lessons across Key Stages, helping pupils develop digital literacy, technical skills, and an understanding of real‑world business concepts. You’ll work closely with experienced teachers, contribute to planning and evaluating lessons, and take an active role in wider school life.

As part of the Grad2Teach two‑phase teacher training programme, you’ll be employed from day one, completing a Level 4 NCFE qualification in Phase One before progressing to a PGCE with QTS in Phase Two, delivered in partnership with Coventry University.

About You

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and capable IT/Business trainee who:

  • Holds a degree (ideally in IT, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or a related subject)
  • Has prior classroom or educational experience — for example, as a cover supervisor, teaching assistant, or unqualified teacher
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for technology, digital skills, and/or business
  • Is reflective, motivated, and committed to developing as a teacher
  • Is keen to follow a salaried, school‑based route into teaching through Grad2Teach

You’ll thrive in a collaborative, well‑structured environment that nurtures your professional growth and supports you as you gradually take on more independent teaching responsibilities.

Training & Progression

During Phase One, you’ll gain hands‑on classroom experience while completing your Level 4 qualification aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and the Teachers’ Standards.

Once ready, you’ll progress into Phase Two — completing your PGCE with QTS through Coventry University, supported by Grad2Teach mentors, training coordinators, and school‑based mentors.

All training is scheduled outside teaching hours, allowing you to focus on developing excellent classroom practice while remaining fully salaried.
