Job description

PD Ports is a leading UK port business offering end-to-end supply chain solutions, employing over 1,400 people in the UK. With headquarters based in the Northeast of England, PD Ports owns and operates the UK’s sixth largest port by volume. Operating out of 11 key ports and logistics centres across the UK, we are committed to retaining and developing talent nationwide.

A vacancy has arisen for a detail-oriented, analytical, organised, and collaborative individual as a full time Business Analyst at PD Ports within the Project Management Office team.

Location: Queen’s Square but with travel to other sites required. Hybrid working available.
Working Arrangements: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.

The five main things our Business Analyst will be working on are:
  • Working with business stakeholders to conduct feasibility assessments, and helping to produce business cases to quantify value and secure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Eliciting, documenting, and prioritising the business functional and non-functional requirements backlog.
  • Modelling as-is processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and facilitating the definition of to-be processes.
  • Supporting the evaluation of solutions, including the evaluation of 3rd party solutions, and ensuring they consistent with the overall business strategy.
  • Supporting benefits analysis and realisation throughout the project lifecycle.
We are seeking someone who has:
  • Strong analytical skills with experience applying business analysis methodologies.
  • A proven track record and experience in the role in medium to large-scale technology change projects.
  • The ability to manage business requirements from initiation through to delivery.
  • Skills in documenting requirements, BPMN process modelling, and process re-engineering.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, conflict management, and presentation skills.
