We’re looking for a driven and motivated Building Surveyor (or Senior Building Surveyor), to join the team in our Birmingham office. Our team has national coverage, with an established pipeline of West Midlands work. A base of Oxford/Milton Keynes would be considered. We have a proven track record of delivery to a range of clients across both Private and Public sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of exciting instructions while working in a supportive, dynamic environment, with clearly identifiable progression and development.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct building, measured and condition surveys and prepare reports.
  • Prepare and negotiate dilapidations assessments.
  • Contract administration of projects, whether extensions, refurbishments or new build.
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, and agreements with clients and contractors.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and cost, and identify potential issues.
  • Undertake feasibility and option appraisals.
  • Advise on Party Walls and neighbourly matters.
  • Provide planned preventative maintenance schedules and reports.
  • Work closely with other members of the project team to deliver successful project and portfolio outcomes.
  • Assist in business development.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Building Surveyor, with at least 5 years post professional qualification.
  • A relevant accredited degree or professional qualification (e.g., RICS, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of the breadth of building surveying services.
  • Experience working with both private and public sector clients.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Office, MS Project, BCIS, iSurv etc.).
  • A full UK driving licence, with unrestricted use of a car is essential to enable site visits.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
