Job summary

A healthcare organization in the UK is seeking a motivated respiratory nurse specialist for a 12-month secondment. In this role, you will provide critical support to asthma patients, act as a role model, and work collaboratively with healthcare teams in both hospital and community settings. The ideal candidate should be a qualified nurse with strong communication skills and a keen interest in respiratory care. Qualifications

  • Qualified nurse with a keen interest in respiratory care and post-registration experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
  • Experience within the respiratory specialty is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in clinical audit and data collection is desirable.
  • Excellent IT skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support patients with exacerbations of asthma or under the care of the asthma clinic.
  • Act as a role model to other staff.
  • Maintain patient records and knowledge of respiratory pathways.
  • Deliver care in hospitals and community settings.
  • Review asthma patients and suggest amended care plans.
  • Work in outpatient clinics after training.
  • Contribute to smoking cessation support.
  • Participate in audit programmes and demonstrate teamwork.
