This role focuses on developing and implementing marketing strategies, promoting the firm's brand, and identifying business opportunities in the Sydney and Newcastle markets. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in business development and marketing, strong communication skills, and knowledge of the professional services sector. We have an opportunity for aBusiness Development & Marketing Advisor to join our nationalBusiness Development, Marketing & Communications team based inSydney.

The role is responsible forworking with partners on the BD, marketing and comms strategyacross the national Commercial Practice which comprises of over 90partners across Dispute Resolution, Banking & Finance,Employment, Corporate & Commercial, Property & Projects,Private Client and Tax sections.

This role will also have adedicated focus on increasing brand awareness and profile in theSydney and Newcastle markets and will also be allocated standalonenational portfolios dependent on the successful candidates’expertise, experience and skillset.

The role may require travel toother offices across Australia from time to time.

You will be responsiblefor:

  • advising and supportingthe relevant Commercial sections national partners and seniorlawyers on strategic firm and personal brand promotion,business development, marketing and practice developmentstrategies, and action outcomes - in line with firm and Sectionplans.
  • advising the Sydney andNewcastle Partners in Charge on strategic firm brand promotion,business development and marketing;
  • working with partners andsenior lawyers personal brand and practice developmentstrategies;
  • identifying businessdevelopment opportunities for the Sydney and Newcastlemarkets;
  • advising and supportinginitiatives for key commercial clients;
  • working with the Bids& Pursuits team on firm and commercial tendersubmissions;
  • leading a range of otheropportunistic bids, such as proposals and capabilitystatements;
  • directory and awardsubmissions;
  • working with theCommunications team to identify and action external profilingopportunities;
  • leading relevant businessand industry association relationships, including sponsorships;and
  • working with the Eventsteam on client, sector and national firm events.

Aboutyou

You will ideally have thefollowing skills and experience:

  • 2+ years’experience in a marketing and/or business development position(professional services ideal);
  • strong knowledge of theSydney and broader NSW markets;
  • tertiary qualificationsin a relevant discipline;
  • ability to build andmaintain effective working relationship with key firmstakeholders;
  • strong influencing andnegotiation skills;
  • proficient in MicrosoftOffice with advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
