Job description
Account / Contract Manager

You will be responsible for managing contracts across the North of England, including locations such as Leeds, Newcastle, and York. The role requires regular travel to customer sites, and a company car or car allowance will be provided.

This is a home-based role, with flexibility to work from a nearby Biffa office where available, as well as from customer sites as required.

The role will ensure the infrastructure is in place to enable the business to be able to respond quickly and effectively to clients’ needs which in return will result in first-class customer service.

The Contract Manager will continually strive for improvements in performance of the contract which will advantage the client and also our business in areas such as EBIT targets, recycling and resource initiatives, legislative compliance and health & safety.

Your core responsibilities
  • Full responsibility for site and contract P&L, ensuring financial targets are met and exceeded.
  • Manage day-to-day customer relationships, acting as the main point of contact and resolving issues proactively.
  • Deliver high standards of service while maintaining strong, long-term customer partnerships.
  • Plan, organise, and prioritise workloads to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Monitor performance, costs, and service delivery, driving continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to meet contractual requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, health and safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Produce accurate reports and forecasts to support operational and commercial decision-making.
