Job summary

A global packaging technology firm is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join their team in Leeds, UK. The role requires servicing and repairing mould tools in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The candidate should have a Toolmaking apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, alongside strong mechanical aptitude and experience with injection mould tools. Responsibilities

  • Service mould tools for use in the Production department.
  • Maintain and test mould hot runner systems.
  • Disassemble and reassemble moulds.
  • Perform metal polishing and fault identification.
  • Respond to tool breakdowns and execute timely repairs.
  • Advise on new tooling projects and design improvements.
  • Manufacture fixtures and spare parts for tooling.
  • Maintain high standards of record keeping and housekeeping.

Skills

Experience servicing and repairing injection mould tools
Ability to identify mould vs. process-related faults
Skilled in metal polishing and tool assembly/disassembly
Proficient in using internal systems and maintaining documentation
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education

Toolmaking apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
