Maintenance Officer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Maintenance Officer to join our Brockworth team.

Brockworth House Nursing Home is located in a peaceful area of Gloucester, overlooking Coopers Hill and close to the scenic Witcombe Reservoirs. The home provides high-quality nursing and dementia care for up to 52 residents. Set within beautiful grounds, Brockworth House offers a warm, family‑like environment where residents can feel safe, valued, and supported.

Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our home to the highest standards. This is a varied and hands‑on role where you will be responsible for:

  • Carry out general repairs, maintenance, and decoration across the home and grounds.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and record outcomes (e.g., fire alarms, emergency lighting, water temperatures, and equipment).
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with Health & Safety and environmental regulations.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritise urgent issues appropriately.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers when required, ensuring work is completed to company standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records.
  • Support the Home Manager in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a maintenance role (preferred)
  • Practical skills in painting, decorating, electrical, and plumbing tasks
  • A keen eye for detail and high standards of workmanship
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
