Job summary
A family-owned car dealer in Reading is looking for a Temporary Service Advisor to cover maternity leave. Responsibilities include greeting customers, scheduling appointments, and communicating vehicle status. Waylands Automotive are currently looking for a Temporary Service Advisor to provide maternity cover at our Kia franchise in Reading on a fixed-term contract.
Waylands is a successful and growing motor retail group, with 15 representation points across the Thames Valley and the M4 corridor, extending into South Wales.
- Act as the liaison between customers and service technicians and be the face of the business when customers come in for service and repair.
- Greet customers, listen to requests, schedule appointments, estimate costs and conduct inspections.
- Work with customers to understand their vehicle issues and problems, determine the repair timeline, and liaise with technicians to convey the customers' concerns with accurate repair descriptions.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat and return business.
- Schedule and book appointments, vehicle drop-offs, and pick-ups using in-hours and manufacturer systems and processes.
- Keep customers updated about the status of their vehicle through the workshop and communicate with technicians to ensure on-time delivery.
- Active listener and excellent communicator.
- Positive attitude with all customers.
- Own the role and take responsibility.
- Derive job satisfaction from providing outstanding service.
- Comfortable working to deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Service Advisor experience is helpful, but we are happy to train someone with customer service experience.
- 8:30am-18:00pm Mon-Fri, Saturday 8:00am-13:00pm on a rota basis (1 in 4).
- Basic salary of £30k plus department bonus scheme.
