Research Technician: CRISPR, Proteomics & Signaling
Job summary
A prestigious academic institution in Scotland seeks a Research Technician to work in a dynamic environment focusing on protein phosphorylation research. The role includes conducting CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and performing proteomic analysis. Candidates should possess a relevant degree and experience in a lab setting. Strong skills in molecular biology and excellent communication are essential. This is a fixed-term appointment for 6 months, offering an opportunity to contribute to significant medical research.
Qualifications
- Experience in a research lab with a strong academic track record.
- Interest in signal transduction research and understanding of PPP3CA/B biology.
- Highly organized, motivated and meticulous, with independent work ability.
Responsibilities
- Identify cell lines for CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing.
- Design and perform CRISPR/Cas9 knock-in and knockout experiments.
- Validate CRISPR/Cas9 clones via immunoblots, PCR, and DNA sequencing.
- Evaluate degradation of PPP3CA and PPP3CB proteins.
- Conduct total and phospho-proteomic analysis.
