Job summary

A prestigious academic institution in Scotland seeks a Research Technician to work in a dynamic environment focusing on protein phosphorylation research. The role includes conducting CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and performing proteomic analysis. Candidates should possess a relevant degree and experience in a lab setting. Qualifications

  • Experience in a research lab with a strong academic track record.
  • Interest in signal transduction research and understanding of PPP3CA/B biology.
  • Highly organized, motivated and meticulous, with independent work ability.

Responsibilities

  • Identify cell lines for CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing.
  • Design and perform CRISPR/Cas9 knock-in and knockout experiments.
  • Validate CRISPR/Cas9 clones via immunoblots, PCR, and DNA sequencing.
  • Evaluate degradation of PPP3CA and PPP3CB proteins.
  • Conduct total and phospho-proteomic analysis.

Skills

Knowledge of generating knockout and knockin cells using CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing
Strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Education

BSc and/or MSc in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
