Job summary
A leading logistics company in Dartford is seeking a Shunter Driver to ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles within the operations team. Responsibilities include conducting daily vehicle checks, reporting defects, and maintaining overall vehicle safety during operations. Candidates should have a valid driver's license and experience in vehicle handling. This full-time role offers a salary of £14.49 per hour with additional pay for night shifts, ensuring that packages reach customers safely and promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience in vehicle movement and safety checks.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and efficient movement of vehicles.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks as per procedure.
- Report mechanical defects and accidents immediately.
Hours: 40 per week.
Salary: £14.49 per hour. Premia paid for hours worked between 7pm - 10pm (£1.56), and 10pm - 6am (£1.88).

- Ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles between parking bays and loading bays, to fuel vehicles, and when required undertake normal Collection and Delivery duties
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks following procedure laid down
- Reporting any mechanical defects in the manner laid down in procedures
- Reporting any accident, breakdown or emergency as soon as possible
