Job overview

The Sleep Service at Trafford is an expanding and fast-paced service within the Respiratory Division, delivering both inpatient and outpatient care. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Inpatient/Outpatient Clinic Coordinator (Band 3) to join our friendly and supportive administrative team.

You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination of patient pathways, supporting clinic scheduling, and maintaining data accuracy across RTT and DM01 targets. The postholder will work closely with the Team Leader, Consultants, and wider multidisciplinary teams to help deliver a high-quality, patient-focused service in line with Trust standards.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing service where no two days are the same, and where your input will directly support improved patient access and experience.

Main duties of the job

Coordinate the processing of new patient referrals and eRS bookings, escalating any delays to the Office Manager.

Schedule outpatient and inpatient appointments, ensuring clinics are fully utilised and RTT/DM01 targets are achieved.

Accurately record patient outcomes and ensure timely updating of systems for RTT and financial reporting.

Liaise with GPs and clinical teams to ensure referral data is complete and patient care is not delayed.

Support the Team Leader and Office Manager in managing patient tracking lists (PTLs) and partial bookings.

Assist with the setup, cancellation, or adjustment of clinics as required.

Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and clinical staff in a professional and empathetic manner.

Support the induction and training of new staff and promote a positive team culture.

Maintain confidentiality, adhere to Trust policies, and uphold the highest standards of data quality and patient care.
