About Us

SEED Environmental is one of the UK's leading providers of intelligent environmental and property incident response, remediation and restoration services for our insurance, commercial and public sector clients. We adopt an "Intelligent Solutions" approach, assessing and analysing every incident on its merits before implementing a unique response.

As part of the Celnor Group, we maintain a family culture where everyone is welcoming, helpful, and open to ideas. We value giving people a voice and creating an environment where colleagues can thrive and develop their careers.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Consultant to join our growing Consulting Division in Doncaster. This is an exciting new role created to support our expanding operations in the region. You will provide cradle-to-grave project management for environmental projects, including all aspects of fieldwork data gathering, designing remedial scopes, risk assessment, factual and interpretive reporting and invoicing.

Working in a hybrid arrangement with a minimum of two days per week in our Doncaster office, you will manage project budgets and invoicing while ensuring projects are delivered in a timely manner in line with client service level agreements. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced environmental consultant looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Provide end-to-end project management for environmental claims projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage project budgeting and invoicing, ensuring deadlines and targets are met in line with client service level agreements.
  • Gather robust fieldwork data and ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Oversee subcontractors and remediation contractors throughout project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure all milestones and deliverables are achieved.

Technical Delivery

  • Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Complete factual and interpretative Preliminary Risk Assessments (desk-based and intrusive).
  • Write technically sound and commercially focused proposals, scopes, and reports.
  • Undertake environmental risk assessments in accordance with current legislation and best practice.
  • Ensure all technical work meets required standards and client expectations.

Client and Stakeholder Relations

  • Maintain project communication on technical and commercial levels with a diverse range of clients, regulators, and site owners.
  • Build and develop strong client relationships through professional and responsive service.
  • Interact effectively with clients and the public, representing the company professionally.
  • Provide clear explanations of technical matters to non-technical stakeholders.

Health, Safety and Compliance

  • Observe all health, safety and environment rules and procedures.
  • Ensure all projects are fully compliant with current and emerging environmental legislation.
  • Maintain accurate and complete project documentation and records.
  • Follow company procedures and industry best practices at all times.

Team Development

  • Mentor and support junior team members in their professional development.
  • Assist in the training of less experienced consultants.
  • Share knowledge and expertise to strengthen the wider team capability.

  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering or natural science related discipline (e.g., Geology, Environmental Science, Physical Geography).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging environmental legislation.
  • Excellent organisational, time-management, analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and written skills, with the confidence to interact effectively with clients and the public.
  • Commercial awareness in both project costings and risk management.
  • Self-starting ability with problem-solving skills and sound judgement.

Desirable:
