Job summary
A small pharmacy team in Rotherham is looking for an Apprentice Pharmacy Assistant to join their innovative group of professionals. This role offers responsibilities such as dispensing medication, over-the-counter sales, and liaising with healthcare professionals. For the right candidate, there is a possibility of full-time employment and opportunities to advance to a higher-level qualification. Ideal candidates should be hardworking, detail-oriented, and able to work in a team setting.

Responsibilities
- Dispense medication to patients and manage over-the-counter sales.
- Check and monitor prescription slips and ensure health & safety compliance.
- Complete apprenticeship work on time and liaise with health professionals.
We are seeking to recruit a new member to join our pharmacy family in our innovative small team of qualified professionals, as an apprentice Pharmacy Assistant. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full-time employment and progress to a higher-level qualification such as the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician.
- Dispensing of medication to patients
- Over-the-counter sales of non-prescription medication
- Check and monitor prescription slips, Health & safety responsibility
- Rotation of stock
- Use of Patient Record Systems and use of smart cards
- Data entry relating to medication
- Labelling and dispensing
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Working within a team environment
- Liaison with doctors, surgery and health professionals
- Completion apprenticeship work on time
- A potentially permanent position within the organisation
