Job summary
A leading healthcare consultancy is seeking a Freelance Medical Editor to assist with various projects that include complex training materials and scientific publications. This role is designed for a professional with a strong background in medical editing and experience in a communications agency, focusing on delivering high-quality outputs in collaboration with subject matter experts.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical editing experience required.
- Experience in a medical communications agency strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with referencing software is useful.
Responsibilities
- Support UK teams on various projects, including training programmes and product monographs.
- Collaborate with SMEs to organize weekly Editorial resourcing.

HCG is seeking a Freelance Medical Editor to support our UK teams on various projects, including:
- complex training programmes (educational slide sets and printed manuals),
- meeting materials and signage,
- product monographs, scientific publications, websites, and apps.
In addition to project delivery, Medical Editors collaborate with SMEs to organize the weekly Editorial resourcing for HCG teams.
- Degree in science, English, or a related subject
- Experience in a medical communications agency strongly preferred
- 3+ years of medical editing experience, including detailed QC checks, or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, primarily PowerPoint and Word
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat for electronic mark-up
- Familiarity with referencing software is useful
