Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Senior Admissions Coordinator to manage the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) surgical procedure waiting lists and track patient pathways.

You will need to provide an efficient, effective quality administration service to patients and staff, as well as providing a full surgical booking coordinator role within the team. This will involve, dealing with Adult and Paediatric patients, liaising with families / patients, hospital staff, arranging pre-assessments and booking Inpatient Procedures.

You will be responsible for the comprehensive tracking of patients RTTs, therefore a knowledge of all NHS targets including 18 week and Cancer Pathways is desirable for this role.

You must be capable of working independently while exercising personal initiative and able to organise your work load to meet the changes in demand within the service.

Knowledge is desirable, but training on all aspects of the role will be given.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the scheduling of Inpatient procedures, working closely with staff at all levels both internally and externally.

Proactively manage patient waiting times, registration and booking of all patients in line with Trust Policies and Procedures, National targets and paying particular attention to the 18 week Referral to Treatment targets and cancer targets.

  • Educated to A Level standard or equivalent

  • Previous experience of working in healthcare or public sector
