Job summary
A leading design and manufacture firm in the UK is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. This role involves creating detailed 3D and 2D designs, supporting machinery design projects, and collaboration with teams. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, and experience in mechanical design. A competitive salary of up to £45,000 per annum is offered, with opportunities for overtime.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Solid background in mechanical design, ideally within machinery or automation.
- Hands-on experience in machining, welding, and fabrication.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D and 2D mechanical designs using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Support the full lifecycle of machinery design, from concept through to production.
- Liaise with suppliers for pricing and lead times.

With a reputation for innovation and quality, the company is expanding its talented design team and is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of bespoke automated machinery.
- Create detailed 3D and 2D mechanical designs using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure design feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery
- Support the full lifecycle of machinery design, from concept through to production
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Solid background in mechanical design, ideally within machinery or automation
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Experience liaising with suppliers for pricing and lead times
- Hands-on experience in machining, welding, and fabrication
- Previous exposure to food machinery design and related systems
- Working knowledge of:
- Steam systems and energy calculations
- Fluid systems, pumps, and piping
- Stress and load calculations
- Motor and gearbox sizing
- Machined part tolerances
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
