A local primary school in Chester is seeking a part-time Caretaker to ensure a safe and clean environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role involves site security, conducting repairs, supervising outside contractors, and supporting the daily operations of the school. Candidates should have practical maintenance skills, a good understanding of health and safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Offering £14.50 per hour, the role requires flexibility in hours mostly during school term times.

Location: Primary School Site
Hours: Part-time (with occasional flexibility required)
Job Purpose: To ensure the school is a safe, clean, secure and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. The caretaker plays a key role in maintaining the school’s buildings, grounds and facilities, carrying out repairs, supervising contractors and supporting the daily operation of the school.
Additional Information: The role may require occasional evening or weekend work for school events or emergencies. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check in line with safeguarding requirements.
Benefits: £14.50 per hour part time hours 07.00 - 09.00 & 15.00 - 17.30 Monday to Friday working Term time only
Sector: Commercial Maintenance
Carrying out general maintenance tasks, as well as flushing and temp water tests, set up meeting rooms, check the car parks as well as escorting sub contractors around the site.
Hours are 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Rates: 13 plus holiday pay.
