Graduate Software Developer (Oracle Cloud)

We are looking for a talented Junior Software Developer to join our Defence and Security team. In this role, you will develop and maintain applications that meet our customers' needs. You will work on cutting-edge projects, collaborate with a dynamic team, and contribute to software solutions that support national security. This is a Bristol-based role with a September 2026 start date which will involve hybrid working and occasional traveling to our clients' sites.

• Write and maintain code, troubleshoot software issues, and fix bugs
• Participate in code reviews, conduct tests to ensure code quality, and contribute to quality assurance activities
• Work closely with senior developers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into functional code
• Ensure that all code is well‑documented and maintain documentation for existing systems and processes
• Continuously improve coding skills, stay updated with industry trends, and be proactive in learning new technologies and tools
• Create and maintain database objects such as tables, views, and stored procedures
• Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with security standards

• A Bachelor's degree (2.1 or higher) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Some understanding of relational database design and some experience with one or more of SQL, PL/SQL or T‑SQL languages
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment, following instructions and contributing to group projects
• Must be eligible for UK Security Check clearance
