• Term weeks: 38 weeks + 1 week school closure (minimum paid weeks of 44.6 per academic year)

Petteril Bank School, proud to be part of Cumbria Education Trust, is seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a supportive school environment while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will:

• Support teachers in delivering high‑quality learning experiences for pupils.
• Assist with classroom activities, small group work, and one‑to‑one support.
• Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including supporting behaviour, wellbeing, and enrichment activities.

You will receive structured training and mentoring, enabling you to develop the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in education. • Promoting independence and resilience in our pupils and engaging them in their learning.

• Liaising sensitively and effectively with parents/carers, gathering and reporting information as agreed with the teacher within your role and responsibility, and participating in feedback sessions/meetings with parents/carers.

• As well as ensuring full competency as a Teaching Assistant, this standard provides a foundation for potential progression into a number of career paths in the educational sector, including Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Assistant Teacher and Teacher.
