Job description

Wrotham Road Primary School are looking fora highly skilled Teaching Assistant to join their excellent team. This role will be fixed term for maternity cover until 31st August 2026.

This position is for 28.75 hours per week, 8.45am - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, with a 1 hour unpaid break per day, for 38 weeks per year. The salary of £24,513 full time equivalent, actual pro rata salary £15,614.98.

Experience of working with children in an educational setting is required along with:

  • good English and Mathematical skills
  • relevant qualifications NVQ 2 and 3 in childcare and learning (level 2 only may be acceptable if a willingness to work towards NVQ3 can be demonstrated)
  • flexibility and use of initiative
  • strong communication skills
  • the ability to work alongside as part of a team
  • patience and understanding of the ways different children learn
  • a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
