Job Opportunity: Waste & Recycling Operatives - Durham Council

Are you looking for active, hands‑on work that makes a real difference in your community? We're hiring three Waste and Recycling Operatives to join our team supporting Durham Council. This is an ongoing opportunity with no set end date, offering flexibility and the potential to become permanent.

Key Details
  • Location: DL17 0SD - must be able to get here for a 6:00 AM start
  • Working Days: Tuesday to Friday
  • Shift Length: Paid for 9.25 hours, even though most days finish around lunchtime
  • Pay Rate: Minimum £13.47 per hour
  • Pay Frequency: Weekly
  • Start Date: Induction on Wednesday 21st November
What You'll Be Doing
  • Collecting, sorting, and recycling materials such as glass, metal, paper, and plastics
  • Working across various settings including recycling sites and collection vehicles
  • Supporting both residential and commercial waste services
