Job description
Role Description

This is a volunteer role.

The Volunteer Fundraiser will support Morvargh Sailing Project by strengthening our financial resilience and growing a sustainable bursary fund. This work directly enables young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to access Sail Training voyages that would otherwise be beyond reach.

What we are looking for

We are seeking someone who can work independently, in consultation with us, and take ownership of defined fundraising strands. This might include identifying opportunities, developing ideas, preparing applications, and turning plans into action, rather than simply generating suggestions.

What this role may involve

Depending on your interests and experience, this role could include:

  • Supporting or leading grant and trust applications
  • Helping develop and manage bursary fundraising initiatives
  • Building and maintaining relationships with donors, supporters, or funders
  • Shaping fundraising campaigns or appeals
  • Helping us think strategically about long-term sustainability

You would not be expected to do all of this; the role can focus on specific areas where you feel confident and motivated.

Who does this role suit

This role suits someone who is organised, proactive, and comfortable working with a degree of autonomy. You may have experience in fundraising, bid writing, finance, communications, or relationship management, or you may bring transferable skills and a willingness to learn. What matters most is reliability, initiative, and alignment with Morvargh’s values.

Time commitment

There is no fixed time requirement. The role is flexible and shaped around what you can realistically offer. We value consistency and follow-through more than hours given.

Why this role matters

Bursary support is fundamental to Morvargh’s mission. Your contribution helps ensure that Sail Training remains inclusive and accessible for the young people who benefit most.
