Job Summary

This is a full‑time role based in Kirkmuirhill for a Van Driver/Storeman. The role involves delivering goods to customers at various locations throughout Scotland and the North East of England while ensuring the safe transport of products. Vehicle will be provided. The role will be physically demanding and will involve manual handling of objects up to 25kg on a regular basis. You will also be responsible for making sure our stock in the yard and warehouse is easily accessible for picking, loading, delivering and supporting the day‑to‑day logistics operations. You will be required to operate a forklift on‑site – full training will be provided to the suitable candidate although a forklift licence is preferred.

Driving Duties
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
  • Conduct routine checks, such as checking oil level and tyre pressures, to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Report any concerns to the Assistant General Manager.
  • Load and unload goods from the vehicle, whilst complying with safe working practices.
  • Provide excellent customer service in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Adhere to all road safety laws whilst driving.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role as requested by management.
Warehouse Duties
  • Unload, inspect and verify incoming products against delivery notes and purchase orders.
  • Record and report discrepancies or damages to products to the Assistant General Manager.
  • Organise and store products in the designated locations within the Warehouse.
  • Pick and prepare orders for dispatch according to customer requirements.
  • Ensure all orders are accurate and properly labelled.
  • Load products onto delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure goods returned are booked into stock accurately by following the return goods procedures.
  • Maintain a clean working environment in the Warehouse.
  • Contribute actively as a member of the Warehouse staff team.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role as requested by management.
Person Specification
  • A valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record in essential.
  • Must be legally able to work in the UK.
  • Proven experience in a warehouse or similar environment is essential.
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or a similar role is essential.
  • A good standard of education including being IT literate and numerate.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklift is in advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent time management and punctuality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Physical ability to perform manual handling of products.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse managements systems.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be comfortable commuting to Kirkmuirhill.
