Role & Responsibilities

Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated RICS Registered Valuation Surveyor to join our Valuation team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, professional valuation advice across a range of property types, ensuring compliance with RICS Valuation – Global Standards (“Red Book”) and delivering excellent service to clients. This role is based at either our Exeter or Bristol offices, with primary responsibility for assignments across East Devon and West Dorset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake property inspections, measurements, and due diligence in accordance with RICS standards.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and well-reasoned valuation reports for secured lending, financial reporting, acquisition, disposal, tax, and internal purposes.
  • Analyse and interpret comparable market data, lease terms, and investment performance.
  • Provide valuation advice across multiple asset classes, such as commercial, residential, mixed-use, and development property (depending on experience).
  • Liaise with clients, lenders, solicitors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication throughout the valuation process.
  • Maintain accurate records and files in line with compliance requirements.
  • Keep up to date with market trends, legislation, and RICS standards, applying this knowledge to day-to-day work.
  • Contribute to business development through building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Experience

Skills & Experience

  • RICS qualified and a Registered Valuer (essential).
  • Proven track record of preparing valuation reports across a range of property sectors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation, valuation methods, and market practices.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple instructions simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships.
  • IT literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and property databases (e.g. CoStar, Edozo, or similar).
