Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join our team in Stourport. If you’re passionate about precision engineering and want to play a vital role in supporting efficient production, we’d love to hear from you!

About the Role

As a Toolmaker, you’ll manufacture, modify, maintain, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and moulds used in our manufacturing processes. You’ll help ensure our production lines run smoothly and our products meet exacting standards.

The Thermal Ceramics division designs, manufactures and installs a broad range of thermal insulation products that significantly reduce energy consumption and emissions in a variety of high temperature processing applications. Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine materials, tools, and processes.
  • Set up and operate machine tools (lathes, milling machines, grinders, CNC equipment) to produce precision parts.
  • Assemble, fit, and adjust parts for proper function and finish.
  • Maintain and repair tools, dies, moulds, and fixtures for ongoing production efficiency.
  • Inspect finished tools and components for accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve tool designs and resolve challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Champion health and safety compliance and a strong EHS culture.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Recognised apprenticeship in toolmaking or related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using precision measuring instruments.
  • Skilled in manual and CNC machine tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
