About the role:
  • Lead a team of family support workers delivering high-quality services to children and families across East Cheshire.
  • Manage children and young people in receipt of packages of support ensuring effective safeguarding and positive outcomes.
  • Provide professional supervision and support to staff, promoting continuous development and accountability.
  • Oversee assessments and care planning, ensuring interventions are evidence-based and aligned with statutory guidance.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners to deliver integrated services and promote joint working.
  • Monitor performance and manage budgets, ensuring resources are used effectively and services meet targets.
  • Contribute to service development, shaping policies and procedures to improve outcomes for children and young people with disabilities and complex needs.
  • Working collaboratively with parent/carer forum and multi-agency partners.

About you:
  • You’re a qualified social worker, registered with HCPC, with solid experience in statutory children’s social care and early help.
  • You have a good understanding of children and young people with disabilities and their needs.
  • You’ll have a deep understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and risk management.
  • You’re confident in leading and supervising a team of family support workers, offering guidance and support to help others grow.
  • You will be confident in supporting a team of social workers.
  • You’ll be able to communicate clearly and compassionately with children, families, and professionals.
  • You’re skilled at managing complex cases and making sound decisions under pressure.
  • You’ll use data and insight to drive improvements and ensure services meet high standards.
  • You’re committed to your own professional development and open to learning and innovation.
