Are you looking for a rewarding role in social care supporting customers in their own home as part of our Independent Living Communities? The City of York Council’s Personal Support Services are now recruiting for opportunities within our management team. As a line manager/team leader you will be required to manage a team of staff, ensuring support and guidance is provided to both staff and service users in our 24hr Independent Living Communities. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring CQC regulations and guidance are adhered to whilst working with a team to manage staff to support customers living in their own homes within York. You will manage the delivery of personal care and promote daily living skills to enable customers to maximise their independence, while adhering to policies and procedures. The duties are varied, so no two shifts will be the same.
You will be supported by the organisation to work within the legal framework i.e. safeguarding/CQC and given the training and support you need, such as obtaining a desired qualification in health and social care.
Please note, we do not have a sponsorship licence to sponsor individuals for visas to work in the UK, therefore we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express themselves spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
